I'm a full-time chef at Millie's Diner in Richmond, VA. I also work for private clients with special dietary needs, specifically vegan and gluten/casein-free foods. I've been interested in food and cooking for as long as I can remember. I can clearly recall, in fifth grade, proclaiming that my favorite food was "fillet mignon with lobster and a red wine, mushroom sauce." I was a bit of a tool in my youth (think 'Blossom' hats.) Before that, in fourth grade, I would put my Dad's dictaphone next to the tv speaker and try to 'record' Graham Kerr on the Discovery channel...before food network!
My guilty food pleasures include canned asparagus, cajun chicken fillet biscuits from Bojangles, and Jose Ole chimmichangas.
I'm especially fond of tomatoes and cucumbers, and I could eat sushi every day of the week and not tire of it! I try to not let my pantry ever be without of garbanzo beans, lentils, capers, or nutella.
My favorite restaurant is The Wildflour in Roanoke, VA (Starving Artist in Abingdon, VA is second). The restaurant I'd like to visit the most is Prune (Butter bringing in a close second.)
